ENTRY FEE: $25.00 In order to reserve your team’s cooking area you MUST pre-register no later than Monday, March 9th by 5:00pm

You must prepare
• A BIG POT of chili for public sampling. NOTE: There is a “People's Choice” selection process, please have an adequate supply of chili to ensure you have enough.
• Each “taster” will buy a colored wristband, and only those wearing a wristband can be served. The taster will be given one ticket to vote for their favorite chili. A ticket bucket for the collection of votes for the “People's Choice” award will be provided.
• Teams must provide their own materials for preparation and cooking. Small serving cups, napkins and plastic spoons will be provided by the Dillon County Humane Society. It is recommended that you fill these cups less than completely full.
• Cooking must be done on self-contained propane stoves and cookers. Electricity is not available.
• Latex gloves will be distributed for use. Each team will need a temperature probe to maintain a safe temperature for chili at all times.
• Each team will be allowed a 10' x 18' space on South Railroad Avenue. Your team needs to bring a 10' x 10' popup canopy tent, a serving table, and a cooking/prep table.
• You must cook the chili on site, but you can brown your meat ahead of time. Prep work such as chopping, slicing, grinding, etc. may be done prior to the event.
• A sign identifying your team is needed at your table. If your chili contains foods known to cause allergies such as nuts, chocolate or similar ingredients, please let the public know by posting on your booth. You may choose to decorate your booth, which is encouraged.
• Chili is, for the purpose of this contest, a meat and spice concoction which may also be cooked with peppers, onions, tomatoes, beans and other ingredients. Rice, pasta, corn chips, taco shells, etc. cannot be used for this contest. Please do not make your chili so hot that the normal person cannot eat it! You may provide voters with sour cream, cheese, tacos, etc. on the side, but for the purpose of the Judges' sample, only chili can be submitted.

Tuesday, March 10th - Friday, March 13th 9:00am - 6:00pm - Meat Distribution at the Visitor Center Saturday, March 14th 7:00am - Cooking may begin
11:00am - Public sampling begins
1:00 - Judging begins for “Judge’s Choice” Award
1:30pm - Tickets collected from each team for the “People’s Choice” Award
2:00pm - Winner of the Judge’s Choice & “People’s Choice” announced
