Petra and Tom Sawyer's homestead is indeed a vibrant tapestry of talents and endeavors! From the lush variety of livestock and produce to the delicate artistry of stained glass, their homestead is a harmonious blend of hard work and creativity. Here’s a snapshot of their remarkable journey:
Tom Sawyer (The Farmer):
Manages a diverse herd of South Pole, Angus Cross, and Brahman cattle.
Sells his herd both live and as USDA-processed, packaged beef.
Rebuilds cars and farm equipment.
Takes care of raised bed gardens and an orchard brimming with apples, peaches, blueberries, Asian pears, muscadine, scuppernong, and Concord grapes.

Petra (The Artist):
Caned produce and fruit, transforming them into low-sugar jams, chutney, whole fruit preserves, and tomato sauce, which Tom sells.
Has 21 years of experience in creating and teaching traditional and mosaic-stained glass.
Has taught at renowned institutions like Spartanburg Art Museum School (SAMS) and Tryon Arts & Crafts (TAC), and from her home studio.
Serves as the President of the Laurens Artist's Coop.
